7 Incredible RC Planes for Beginners. Radio-controlled (RC) flying is exciting for anyone at any age. You may want to pilot one of these puppies for fun or take the bobby to a competitive level. If you’re a novice, you need a model that provides excitement and with enough features to develop your skills.
Good little starter plane. I already had an Apprentice S15 e with SAFE that I purchase from the LHS (Local Hobby Shop) but I wanted something that I could just grab and fly in a small area and that was easy enough for my kids to pick up and bring to me as they like watching me fly the planes (Ages 3 and 5). The SAFE lets you fly it as hard or as easy as you want with a flip of a switch. The size is good enough to be flown in a big back yard or baseball diamond. You can loop, and if you get the speed up, roll the plane with the safety of a panic switch to get you out of it. And like I said, I was able to allow my young kids to help me hand launch it (with.
One of the few rc planes I bought that actually flies. The first thing I noticed out of the box is that the design of the propeller shaft makes it durable in case of a crash. There's a angle between the plane and the propeller direction to compensate the prop torque. The plane comes with a stabilizer. On easy setting, it's almost impossible to crash this thing. While on hard mode, you can do some crazy maneuvers like a inside loop. The flight time on this plane is about 5 min.
With gentle throttle, you can probably get 7 min. Very satisfied with the purchase, and I will definitely buy again. Thats about it. If you want to fly rc planes but dont want to build one or pay a fortune for it, get a Champ. Open the box, install the batteries turn on the radio plug in the plane battery and toss it into the air like a paper plane and start flying it.most crash damage can be repaired with clear packing tape or good scotch tape. Not to mention you can get all the replacement parts you need here on amazon, I have replaced almost every part so far, and have repaired the main wing broken in two or more places with tape and it still flies great.UPDATEi had to add to my review. I read every one star review on amazon about this plane.
It seems clear to me that some people think this is a toy that will teach thier 9 or 10 year old how. My nephew was able to fly it with almost no learning curve, doing 360's and touch-and-goes (just clipping the grass) on the first flight.
The plane glides very well so you can fly for a long time, only using the motor when needed. And it's very hard to break: he clipped the trees several times, and the wings popped out, undamaged, just needed to re-assemble. A week or so later, he lost the wing stabilizing bar after clipping the trees again, but we were able to order a replacement from gearbest. In summary, I think this is the best-designed toy I have ever seen.
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this quadcopter. I love the sleek, stylish sport flyers, but the HS160 Shadow has found a place in my favorites. First off it is packaged incredibly well. The box is neat and well thought out, with easy start up instructions printed on the inside of the magnetic closing lid.
The HS160 itself is well designed. It even comes with a velveteen sack to carry it in! The folding arms feel secure when folded in or extended, with firm clicks when in place. The battery design is excellent, and installs under the body completing the sleek underside.
The LED lights front and rear are brilliant at night, white in front, and red in rear, helping with low light orientation. The power button is on top of the body, and that is a plus in my opinion, not having to fiddle with.
Great beginners plane and very easy to put together and fly. Also very easy to hand launch as the lifting-body design means this aircraft wants to fly regardless of the conditions. This plane needs a lot of room to operate, particularly in beginner's mode as the turns are wide (the plane is pretty large as well).
The beginner's mode the controllers acts sort of like a flight control system keeping the aircraft stable throughout the flight regime.Suggest you use white glue and/or reflective tape to hold the wing strakes/fences on (they aren't necessary to fly but good for stability, particularly during high speed dives.).Note, flew it into power-lines one day and put a big gash in the wing and knocked a wing fence off. The plane initially went into a flat spin, but leveled out on its own and kept wanting to fly (due to the good stability of the design).
